Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the indstry platform (“Platform”), operated by indstry (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Membership and Access

indstry is a professional network for the creative industry, built on trust between members:

• Joining: You create an account with your email address (confirmed by email) or by signing in with Google. Many members join via a personal share or recommendation from an existing member.
• Trust and vouching: What you see and who can reach you on the Platform is shaped by your professional network — the connections you make and the recommendations members give each other. Recommendations are personal and given by members, not by us.
• Curation: We reserve the right to decline, suspend, or remove accounts to protect the quality and safety of the community, at our reasonable discretion.
• Accuracy: You must provide truthful information about your identity, experience, and work, and keep your account credentials secure.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the Platform only for lawful, professional purposes related to creative work, portfolio presentation, professional networking, and job opportunities.
• Maintain professional conduct in all interactions, including messaging threads and job applications.
• Not upload content that is illegal, defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
• Not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or professional experience.
• Not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the Platform without our express written permission.
• Not attempt to circumvent security measures, access controls, or the visibility and contact rules that protect other members.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards and to suspend or terminate accounts of users who breach these guidelines.

3. Content Ownership

You retain full intellectual property rights over all content you upload to the Platform, including portfolio items, images, videos, documents, and written materials.

By uploading content to the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and make available your content as part of the Platform’s normal operation. This includes displaying your portfolio to other members, showing your profile in search results, and generating resized versions or previews of your work for display.

This licence exists solely for the purpose of operating the Platform and terminates when you delete the content or your account. We will not sell, sublicence, or use your content for purposes unrelated to the Platform without your explicit consent.

4. Work Between Members

The Platform lets members find each other, communicate, and record the terms of work they agree between themselves (such as dates, fees, and the basis on which a fee is charged). In respect of any such work:

• We are not a party to any agreement between members. Any engagement, and any payment for it, is solely between the members involved and happens outside the Platform.
• We are not an employer, employment agency, or employment business in respect of work arranged between members.
• Tools that record engagement terms are a convenience for members’ own record-keeping; we do not verify, enforce, or guarantee those terms.
• We do not guarantee the outcome of any job application, hiring process, or professional engagement facilitated through the Platform.

5. Fees

Use of the Platform is currently free of charge. We do not process any payments on the Platform.

If we introduce paid features in the future, we will give you clear notice before you incur any charge, and separate terms will apply to those features. You will never be charged without your agreement.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Platform’s reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
• Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Platform shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not responsible for the conduct, content, or actions of other users on the Platform, including recommendations members give each other.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Account Termination

Termination by you: You may stop using the Platform at any time. To delete your account, email privacy@indstry.id from your account email address; we will verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy. Account deletion is irreversible. Some data may be retained where required by law.

Termination by us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Breach these Terms or our acceptable use standards.
• Engage in conduct that is harmful to other users, the Platform, or third parties.
• Provide false or misleading information when joining or in your profile.

Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue before terminating your account. In cases of serious or repeated violations, we may terminate immediately.

8. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at legal@indstry.id to seek an informal resolution. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
